Editorial Standards

Orgasm.now is a sexual wellness publication. Every guide is published under the byline Orgasm.now Editorial and held to a single standard: accurate, plain-language, shame-free information that an adult reader can act on with confidence. This page explains who produces that content, how we verify the facts in it, and how to reach us with a correction.

Who we are

We are an independent editorial team writing about sexual health, anatomy, pleasure, relationships, and the science behind them. We are not a medical provider, and nothing here is a substitute for personalised advice from a qualified clinician — but our aim is that what we publish is consistent with the best available peer-reviewed evidence.

We write for adults across all six of our content areas — female, male, couples, solo, dating, and the underlying science. The tone is direct and judgement-free: we explain how things actually work rather than moralising about them.

How we verify facts

Sexual wellness is a field crowded with myths, marketing, and recycled statistics. We take a conservative, sources-first approach to every factual claim:

• Peer-reviewed sources. Statistical and scientific claims are grounded in published, peer-reviewed research — journals in sexology, urology, psychology, and sexual medicine — rather than in unsourced figures or other websites.
• CrossRef-verified DOIs. Every reference we cite carries a DOI that we verify live against the CrossRef registry, and we confirm the DOI resolves to the exact paper we intend to cite. References that do not resolve are not published.
• No invented statistics. We never fabricate or estimate a percentage to sound authoritative. Where a precise, sourced figure does not exist, we use qualified language instead of a made-up number.
• Attribution in context. When we cite a figure — for example a prevalence rate — we name the study and year in the text so readers can trace the claim to its origin.
• Product and price claims. Pricing and product specifications are checked against current vendor and search evidence, and presented as editorial ranges where prices fluctuate. Affiliate relationships never change a verdict.

Editorial review process

Before publication, every guide goes through the following steps:

1. Research review — primary peer-reviewed sources are identified and cited; DOIs are verified.
2. Structural edit — content logic, completeness, and factual accuracy are checked against the sources.
3. Tone review — plain language, no shame, no sensationalism, accurate caveats.
4. Fact & reference check — links, citations, statistics, and price claims are independently re-verified.

Articles are revisited when the research changes or when reader feedback identifies a gap. An update date is shown on every article, and in the byline of each guide.

We want to be told when we get something wrong. If you spot an inaccuracy, an outdated price, or a citation that no longer resolves, let us know and we will review and correct it.
